Hi! I'm Dr. Sahar Martinez.
My work explores what happens underneath the lives we're building: the attachment patterns shaping our relationships, the nervous systems influencing our decisions, the identities we're outgrowing, and the complicated space between who we've been and who we're becoming.
Psychology doesn't stay in the therapy room.
It follows us everywhere. Into our relationships. Our work. Our ambition. Our parenting. Our leadership. Our businesses. Our bodies. The internet. The systems we build and the lives we're trying to create. For nearly two decades, I've worked at the intersection of psychology and real life—as a therapist, professor, clinical supervisor, founder, and speaker. These days, I'm especially interested in the places where the usual answers stop working. I have found this in moments where success gets complicated and ambition changes. It lives in the intersection of motherhood rearranging you and your nervous system disagreeing with your five-year plan. It’s where the life you built is still good, but you're not sure it fits anymore.
That's usually where the interesting work begins.
a few things I'm thinking about:
-
Not every business decision is a business decision. Sometimes perfectionism is protection. Sometimes procrastination is fear. Sometimes “I need to think about it” means your nervous system has quietly pulled the emergency brake.

I didn't become less ambitious.
I became less interested in building a life I had to abandon myself to maintain.
Motherhood has a way of rearranging identity, time, values, relationships, work—and our definition of enough.
I'm interested in what happens when we stop asking mothers how to return to who they were and start asking who they're becoming.

Human beings are wired for belonging.
Then we invented follower counts.
I'm interested in what happens when creativity, identity, visibility, validation, and livelihood collide online—and how we build influence without handing the internet responsibility for telling us whether we're okay.

Mental-health care should be accessible.
Therapists should also be able to pay their rent.
Both things can be true.
I'm interested in what it takes to build mental-health systems that care for clients without quietly asking clinicians to subsidize those systems with burnout, underpayment, and unpaid labor.

Let’s Work TogetherI'm glad you're here.
You don't need to know exactly what you're looking for. Maybe you're here because you need a therapist. Maybe you're looking for a speaker. Maybe you're a clinician trying to build a career without losing yourself inside it. Maybe something you've built no longer fits. Or maybe you're simply interested in the strange, complicated work of being human.
There's room for all of it here.
